is there any way of telling which field order is correct for tmpeg encoding ?
I'm encoding to mpeg2 for a pal dvd
the original source is pal analog , captured through an ADVC 1394 , which converts it to DV avi .
after that i've edited it using studio 8 and saved as huffy encoded avi
this is where i get confused ..
i've read that DV is generally upper field first A , and most other video is lower field first B
so by converting to DV with the ADVC1394 , does it become upper field ?
and does saving it out through studio 8 change it again ?

As long as the final result isn't getting screwed up and looking horrible, chances are you're using the correct feild order.
