Would it be illegal to copy DVD's that you borrowed from a friend, the library, rental store, etc. if you were to copy it to RW and erase it when you were done watching it? You would be able to watch it at your leisure. You wouldn't have to get it back at a certain time.

'Fraid so. They do not fall under "time shift" like TV shows which are time shifted by broadcasters.

I used to work at Cambridge Sound Work's and is now owned by Creative Lab's and the store sold a $500.00 dollar GO-Video deck and the pitch was rent movie's and watch them when you want. We never sold one this VCR at the time was very big and no one ever bought it.
