  1. So I record from a VHS tape to my E50 using the DVD-RAM disc that came with the recorder and looking at the files on my computer with a new Toshiba DVD drive that also reads DVD_RAM I see the following file structure.

    VR_MANGR.BUP
    VR_MANGR.IFO
    VR_MOVIE>VRO

My question is there a way to rename these files so that a program like DVDshrink can use them? I know I can just change the extension on the movie file to mpg and import it into neoDVD because I did it, however I prefer using DVDshrink to do things like crop the file. Thanks for any help here.........

  2. I know you can use tmpeg Author to edit the vro/mpeg2 files, That is what I do with the panasonic HS2. There are some good guides on this site to follow with all the details...

  4. The search on this board is disabled so forget that idea. I was hoping I could somehow get the files into DVDshrink or perhaps be able to use IFO edit then use DVDshrink. There must be a way to do this.

  5. Hi.

I just copy to the hard drive and rename to .vob and the no probs.

Ive tried opening the .ifo file in various programs and it doesnt do anything although I think i noticed that the new PowerDVD supports VRO files so maybe that can open the IFO files to.

  7. The most current Nero 6 with Recode 2 and Nerovision may be a good DVD-RAM extractor and DVD making kit for Pan DVD-RAM disks. In nerovision you can suck out the vro file (add video files icon) and use recode for compression if needed. I just started playing with it as an alternative to other programs such as TempGenc DVD author, etc. I'll report back in a few days if it works without audio sync problems, etc.
