Rip DVD and make KVCD - but ....... ?

I have been ripping DVDs for a long time. I use Sefy's classic guide and have always ended up with excellent VCDs.

I came across KVCD sometime back and wanted to try it out.

My procedure was

Ripping VOBs - SmartRipper
FrameServing - DVD2AVI (save as .d2v and .wav files)
Encode - TMPGEnc (using the .d2v and wave files)
Authoring and Burning - VCDEasy (chapters from ChapterXtractor)

I did everything in the Sefy's guide except used KVCD templates while encoding using TMPEnc (which is the best ever I guess).

But the KVCD that comes out, no doubt is very good in video quality, has some kind of breaks in audio every few seconds.

Any comments/suggestions ????

on dvd player or PC??

keep in mind kVCD is a non-standard, compliant xVCD

you need to make sure your dvd player supports xVCDs and at what bitrate: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

Hoave your tried going to www.kvcd.net and asking the same question. I now Kwag or someone there will be able to assist.

The break in audio appears in both PC and regular DVD player.

Then it is possible something went wrong with encoding, or, you may have a bad MPEG codec on the PC, and also, your DVD might not support that type of format
