  2. 1: NEC ND-1300a, dual format DVD burner $145 here http://avlogic.com/product.cgi?code=18030059
2: DVDshrink (free), DVD2one, or DVDx Xpress. Oh and InstantCopy.

Actually a good deal IMO is to go tto www.321studios.com where if you buy DVDx Xpress (around $50) they are offering a dual format DVD+/-R/RW drive for $100.

i think he meant burn-proof...for buffer underruns....

even 8 MB buffers can't prevent buffer underruns

  6. I think all drives these days have some type of burn proof technology built in.

  7. one more question then i might be out of you guy hair . Is there a test burn option which let the buner pre-burn before it actually burn the data on the disc (if it ok then it will continue with the process, if not it would promt you to fix it and suggest that you not to burn it.) That would help in case of a small scratch on the original dvd .

That would be a function of the burning software not the drive. I know RecordNow Max and Nero have that option.

    256 mb ram
    16x dvd-rom

  10. oh, this baby can burn dvd-5 and dvd-9 right?

  11. DVD5 maybe, but certainly not DVD9. No red laser DVD burner to date can burn to DVD9 blank discs. In fact, no writable DVD9 disc exists as DVD9 disc is pressed and not burned.
