PLEASE GUYS!!!
Can anyone inform me of the easiest/quickest way to change a Region1 (NTSC) to a Region2(PAL) dvd disk as i have used dvd-shrink to rip the disk to fit one dvd-r blank,,but for some reason it is still locked as region-1!!!...ggggrrrr...I chose to make it a multi-region in the dvd-shrink settings but my pc still states its region-1
Also do i need to re-encode the film from NTSC to PAL for it to play in the uk???
THANX FOR ANY HELP

Simply load the IFO files into IFOedit, click on region free then save them back. Piece of cake.
NTSC to PAL isn't very straight forward, it might be easier to buy a more modern TV since the majority of them now support NTSC on at least one of their SCART sockets. And a region free DVD player, too !
Your DVD player might do some hashed conversion too - look for Pseudo-PAL or PAL-60 in the setup menu.
If you have to re-encode the video and adjust the playback rate of the audio (there is a slight pitch difference otherwise) there are guides but it will still be a time consuming process and you may not be happy with the results.
Best to view it in its native format if at all possible. You may find once you've got the region code sorted you will be OK - your DVD player will handle NTSC with no problems (it's part of the spec), and chances are your TV will be OK as most sets made roughly within the past 5 - 8 years will handle NTSC too. If it's black and white when you come to watch it, it's either not compatible or not set up correctly/ -
Thanx for reply!!!
BUT i have now tried the method of using the latest IfoEdit prog and it states that the film is now region free and i can see it in the details aswell,,but when i want to play it it still says its the wrong region on both Windows Media Player and on WinDVD platinumMATT_THE_MOUSE®™ -
Try running one of these programs:

AnyDVD works great and in the background
I have had nothing but luck with DVD Region Free as well. With that program though make sure that the program that you use to play your dvd's is added to the program list
