Dear people maybe you can help me .
I just began in the "dvd world" so i'm fairly new.
I copied over 40 films now and I'm amazed by the fact that there where only 2 films that I had to decrypt.
Is this strange ? because the rest I just shrinkt with "shrink" and than burnt with Nero.
So the question that I have is .
What would be best ???
dvd decrypter(even the dvd is not encrypted)>>>>
dvd 2one/shrink>>>>nero
OR
dvd schrink(does it also decrypt?)>>>>> nero
Hope someone knows?
kind regards jeroen

My personal opinion is to use DVD Shrink and Nero for moth things.
Shrink gives you the option of compressing different parts of the movie with different compression rates.
And with the advent of Shrink 3 b, I do believe that I will be using it all the more.

jeroenskie, DVD Shrink does decrypt.
As of version 3.0 (still in the beta stages), it also removes RCE (a type of copy protection), and PUOs ("Prohibited User Operations"; what normally stops you from fast-forwarding or skipping warnings, from changing audio and/or subtitles during the movie, etc etc).
It has been removing Macrovision (what stops you from copying a DVD to a VHS tape) for a while, but in v3.0 it has become an option.
DVD Shrink V3.0 is really a huge step towards being the best all-in-one (appart from burning, obviously) DVD backup software.
The level of compression can now be selected manually, with a slider.
DVD Shrink will automatically adjust all the levels of compression to fill the whole DVD-R (no more "going into the red" or undersized backups).
The "Quick Analysis" has been improved, and a new "Deep Analysis" option has been added (it takes a while because it analyses ALL the frames in the DVD, but it can be done in several sessions) giving even better quality and exact sizing.
In "Re-author" mode you can compile several DVDs (or flippers) to one DVD-R, as well as splitting a movie to two discs (can be done with v2.3 too), if you don't mind losing the menu.
etc etc...
For a complete version history, use this link: DVDShrink.info[/url]
The beta versions are still buggy, but the final release (in about 2 to 3 weeks time, as dvdshrink is very busy with another project) should be great!
So I'd suggest you wait. -
So what you've experienced is that there were only 2 films that DVD Shrink couldn't rip, which is... about right.
