Hi, just curious what would be the best way to go with codecs. Recently I just deleted some videos I downloaded because it looked like they were corrupt. But come to find out there was nothing wrong with the video it was the codecs. I normaly use the K-Lite Codec Pack and ,sometimes the nimo codec pack. What would be the best way to go get the codecs like x-vid or divx from there sites or should I just go with these codec packs that can be downloaded?
Thank You
Armand

Nimo is Evil. It breaks a few things, and some codecs are very out of date. And you can't un-install it either.
You Need: DivX 5.x, Latest XviD build, MPEG Codec, AC3 Codec, MP3 Codec. I also reccomend OGG codecs. That's it, should play just about everything. Get the 4cc changer to deal with the "Wtf is this AVI?" problem of the 10 different headers for a DivX file.To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
I recommed DivX, me use it all the time. Gaz's other suggestions 'excluding DivX' are also worth looking into.
Go to there site:: http://www.divx.com/software/browse.php?cid=16
Thas the one most peeps would suggest as the 1st one u shud download, as its one of the best and most common. -
Hi , thank you for the reply. I will go with the codecs mentioned I think I'll be staying away from the codec packs. It seems I've been having nothing but bad luck with this stuff lately.
Thank You
