I have an Avi file that I would like to convert to DVD structure. I used the following method but I did not get any sound in the final DVD:

    1. Converted AVI To MPG (for dvd NTSC) using TMPGEnc.
    2. Converted MPG to DVD structure using TMPGEnc DVD Author

According to VDUB, the source audio in the AVI is Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec. I did nothing to convert this audio so I think that could be my problem.
How do I get audio in the final DVD structure (VOB files) that my DVD player will recognize? Thanks for the help.

If you get audio errors, out of sync problems or bad audio or no audio at all
Try to convert the audio to wav before converting.

Tommyknocker, thanks for your help. I did what you said but using different software. In TMPGEnc, as I encoded the Avi to a DVD compliant MPG, I also split the audio and video streams at the same time. I then "rejoined" both of them using IfoEdit which created the DVD structure files (vob's). However, when I burned the DVD and played it I still had no sound!
Sooooo...I eventually figured out the problem. I had to change the audio output settings on my DVD player from "bitstream" to "PCM". Whalaa! I had sound! Thanks for your help!
