  1. I've noticed that the best mpetg2 real time capturers are like the advc-100, which doesn't have a direct analog input place.
so like.. what do u connect..
the analogue wire to the vcr, then vcr to the advc-100, and advc-100 to pc?

and also, is there a device that's good or better than the advc (below 200 dollars) which has a direct analog input so like..
i can connect analog wire to usb device, and then usb device into comp.
do u guys think usb 2.0 hardware can beat the pci's?
or should i just go for a pci hardware than usb external one?
    thx

for around $15-$20 you can get an RF Modulator, it converts coax to component outputs.

most any electronics retailer should have them.

  5. thx for the reply.
so now, my options are the
    advc-100
    or the
Plextor ConvertX (which i haven't seen any comments on the captuer cards list)

can anyoen suggest which one to use?
i liked the plextor because of the mpeg4 option, but advc-100 seems to have great comments. PLanning on capturing TV shows at mpeg2, and hoping to get a hardware that doesn't kill my sistem

    athlon xp 1800+
    386mb ram
    ga-7vtxh+ mobo
    40 gig seagate
    100 gig wd
    120 gig wd
    geforce 2 mx

if anyone recommends another product from another company taht can capture from ntsc 720x480 (minimum) and REAL TIME hardware MPEG-2 capture, PLEASE RECOMMEND ME. (going for usb 2.0 product)

    thanks!
