  1. I havent been at this for long and so far I'm not having much luck with my DVD-R's.

My problem is that when i playback my DVD-R's, they seem okay for about the first 1 1/2 hours and then they start pixilating and freezing.

    Any ideas???

  3. Sorry a few details.....

I've got a Tomson DTH210 dvd player, Teac DV50E dvd writer and been using Datawrite reds (X4).

I know that in the Dvd players list on here it show that my DVD player doesnt play dvd-r, but it seems to up to the 1 1/2 hour point.

I've tried using DVD Shrink to make a "smaller dvd" to eliminate the chance of the edge of disc problem, but that hasnt worked either.

test these discs on another DVD player if you can. I dont want to tell you your media is the problem when it very well might just be your DVD player not being very compatible with burnt media.

  5. Just been having another look at the DVD players list and some people think that it has a problem playing the end of princo discs.

Now i just need to find a media that works.

If the total of the DVD is less than 4000MB (or better yet 3900MB) then you should have no problems with discs that have edge problems.

It isn't very pratical to limit yourself to that size but you might want to try it once on the media you have to see if it solves your problem. If it does then you know that it probably is the media and then you can go buy better/different media. If you keep your total file size below 3900MB and you still have playback problems then it very well might not be a media problem.

Yeah... some of the cheaper DVD's have problems with the outside of there disks. You may have noticed that DVD media is actually looks like a plastic disk sandwitch when viewed from the sides. Not all manufacturing processes are the same. The only thing I could suggest is try some different (read better) media. Hope this helps.

it could also be your dvd player just not compatible with DVD-R....

    looking here: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDname=Tomson+DTH210&Search=Search

it states your dvd player is compatible with "Few DVD-R"..... however, you should read over the user comments on your particular player and see which media works for them....

otherwise, you can try getting another DVD player (even those cheapo ones) that's more flexible in DVD-R.
