I just downloaded the new ffmpeg dmg file en tried, as instructed, to install the necessary files using te included installer.

However, it keeps reporting Applescript error -102.

    Anyone knows a solution?

    Thanks

I too have a problem installing the latest ffmpeg (never used it but I will give it a try now). When I am installing the components and I hit install, and verify the password to install, the installer just keeps going and going forever, I never get the "installation is complete" message, so I usually force quit it.

I am using OS X 10.2.6. What shall I do Major?

Also can I give a sugestion? I miss a function in encoders that only cleaner has (tho I dont like cleaner) that is the fade-in / fade-out option, so users can fade their videos for vcd. Is that a lot of hard trouble to create? Just a sugestion!

Hope you can help me with the installation thing )

Ok now I tried to install the french version and the reason i can't is the following. My administrator password is blank, i type nothing and hit ok. I never had any problems installing software because of this but ffmpegX won't let me install unless I type anything (and everything I'd type would be incorrect cause my password is blank). I get the message saying the password is wrong or is not typed.

Guess I will never be able to install ffmpegX...

When I use the English version of the ffMpeg installer it spins and spins and never installs. When I use the French version it says "Mencoder OS X.app is a directory (not copied). (1)". It isn't, it is an app, and will load when I double click it.

    Any ideas?

you answered the question yourself...wrong file...you need the mencoder/mplayer binaries which are included in this file:
