  1. My JVC DVD player(XV-521) can't play recorded DVD discs, Maxell-DVDR's recorded with a Pioneer DVDR-A05.
I think this is very strange because the listing on https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDname=jvc+dvd&Search=Search
tells something different. It should be possible!?

Anyone any experiences wit this JVC player problem?

  3. Hi poopyhead,

    Yes indeed, Nero.

    TIA.

  4. gvds,

I just discovered that my JVC XV-SA75GD won't play TMPGEnc encoded CBR without freezing up at simple blank screens. It will play if VBR is used instead. Related problem?

  5. @gvds,

  6. No, I'm not using Nero (at least not knowingly). My problem was specific only to TMPGEnc CBR encoding. Wether I burned with their TMPGEnc DVD Author burner (not sure of the underlying engine) or if I used the Veritas Record Now software that came with my Sony VAIO - I had the problem. But, my JVC player worked fine with if encoded with a VBR or if encoded with Sony's Click To DVD. FYI, more info on my problem is here: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=172732

    Good luck,
    Jay

  8. gvds,

I don't have Nero, so I can't help you there. However, if it can be set in Nero, I would imagine you could find how to by searching these forums or others with Google.

If I were you, I would try another burner to rule out if the Nero software is the problem. TMPGEnc DVD Author has a burner and is free to try for 30 days.

So, I assume you are not using TMPGEnc to encode your MPEG with CBR? That was the only problem I found with my JVC.
