    I have a DV file from my camcorder.

    It is very large and i wanted to make it smaller.
    How can I cut it without converting it to mpg1/2?

    I am using Windows XP with a P4 2.4 with 256 memory.

    The DV file came from my my sony Camcorder via a firewire card.

    XP has a free program called "Movie Maker". You can get the upgrade free off their site. That should get you there.
