I captured my collection of Benny Hill VHS videos with my winTV PVR250
The output file format from my capture card is MPEG2 "DVD Standard"
anyway I want to convert all those video files to Divx at 352x240 (vcd resolution) and at 64k audio bitrate. Keeping the filesize small without sacficing too much video quality (that way I can fit my 16 VHS tape to one or two DVDR disc)
what is the best, simple idiot proof way for me to go about doing that?
There's bunch of programs out there, Virtual Dub, Dr. Divx, All Video Converter, etc..
what program do you recoommend? and what do u think about the latest Window media encoder? any good should I go aobut that route?

Virtualdub is fairly easy to use, but with your captures being MPEG2 you will need the version that supports MPEG2, unfortunately I can't remember where to get it, try www.DOOM9.org
