    im trying to open an avi file and it saids ...

    Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'DIV3' (Microsoft Hi-Speed MPEG-4V3[HackivX Low-Motion])

    Virtualdub requires a Video for Windows(VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Directshow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.

    What does that mean? Im using ffdshow, do i need to install divX 3.11 or something?

    The easist solution would be to install a multi codec pack. You can find one here http://www.kazaalitekpp.com/
