  1. Hi

I have 7 small .avi movies that I would like on one Cd-R with a menu where I can choose either movie to play.

Can anyone tell me the best way to do this please.

Can I use Nero or EasyCdCreator?

Is there a "how to guide" somewhere in this site?

    Thanks in advance

Yup just check under the HOW TO section to your left, you'll need the AUTHOR section.

You can do Menus with Nero but they're very basic. VCD Easy has a host of features for this kind of thing.

  4. Not a clue. You could do something with IE I'd imagine - but why bother ? As its to use in a pc the explorer is pretty much your menu.

you would need to use something like Flash or Director or Dazzler or something designed for interactive presentations, and write a "front end" where you can select a file to play.

You could also do it as HTML - make a web page that refers to the files on the disc, where you can click & play. That would be the cheapest and an easy alternative - all you need is Notepad and a HTML code cheat sheet.

Then you'd want to write an autorun file, so that when you put the disc in the drive, it would bring up your menu to start.

You could use either of the following:-

    Powerpoint.
    Opus
    Scala IC Designer.

Keep your eye open for the cds that come with magazines such as PC Pro etc, they sometimes include programs that will do it. Dazzle was on one once.

  8. @edgler vess,

you expecting to play those .avi files on a standalone dvd player??? if so, you need to convert to (S)VCD.

only recently, a few dvd players started support MPEG-4
