LG GSA-4040B DVD-RAM and 4x DVD-R media

I've got a LG GSA-4040B DVD-RAM burner. I seem to be having problems burning 4x DVD-R media. It will only burn at 2x. DVD+R(RW) and DVD-RAM all appear to work fine. Using a different burner with the same software and same media it all works fine at 4x. I've tried the cheap Princo 4x and the expensive Memorex stuff. No go. This drive is less than two weeks old!

Has anyone else seen this? Or am I doing something wrong here.

BTW, the firmware of the drive is A104.

I burn Princo 4X DVD-R fine. Takes around 15 mins a disc.

Oppps pardon me they are RITEK 4X DVD-R with a Legacy name brand.

I burn (RITEK) 4X DVD-R fine.

What firmware if you don't mind? A104? And which app?
