  1. I'm not able to capture audio using Virtual Dub. I can capture both video and audio using ATI's MMC 7.1 but for some reason not with VD. I've checked the capture audio box in Virtual Dub and have made sure the "line in" is not muted. I can get sound when recording but not during playback using MMC 7.1 nor Windows Media Player.

Everything else is working fine. What could it be?

    Thanks

  2. I had the same problem. I was told that VirtualDub can not capture DV audio. Try AVI_IO.

  3. I'm copying from a VHS tapes not from a DV.

Is AVI IO as good as Virtual Dub?

  4. In the tools section, they say AVI_IO is one of the best. Haven't captured from VHS. Try them both and see which one you like better.

  5. Make sure your audio line is plugged directly into your audio card from the VHS machine and the audio "line In" on Windows Record is not muted.
I use VituralDub 1.4.7 all the time with my Happauge PVR to capture AVI's with no problem, even capture using Divx Codecs also.
I am using DVD, Laser Disc, SVHS, Hi8mm as the imput source.

Vdum tell you to go into capture and back out then back in again ! Quite a lot of people could not get this to work.

  7. Yeah, I checked all of the cables, even reseated each one. I've played around with all of the check boxes on both the recording and playback of my sounds. I've went in and out of Virtual Dub even restarted the computer a couple of times.

I'll give AVI IO a try tonight.

Thanks for all of the responses guys!!!
