  1. I am attempting to capture video from my Sony Hi8 camcorder through my Avermedia capture card, with Premiere 6.5. I am successful to the point of creating the AVI file, however the frame size is only 320x240. When I fumble through the settings, I go into the Video Format area and attempt to change the 320x240 to 640x480 (which I believe it more representative of Hi8 quality) and it for some reason goes back to 320x240. Any ideas as to why? Am I doing something fundamentally wrong. Is 320x240 good enough for Hi8?
    Your input please.
    Thanks,
    Gene

You have to check your camcorder manual to find out what resolution your Hi8 video is in. I would have checked for you, but I do not know what camera you own. Anyway, the prevailing rule of thumb is there is no need to capture too much higher above your camcorder's resolution, as the capture quality will not improve.
    Hello.
