  1. Hello...I have downloaded some video (.avi) files and when I try to watch them using Windows Media Player it will not play them and states, "cannot play back file. format is not supported" How can I go about fixing this. Also, after I do get past this first problem...how can I convert them to MPEG so I can burn them to DVD/VCD to play in my DVD player? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !

  2. First download Gspot to determine whether you have/need the correct codecs.

Then follow this guide for conversion

    And,this one for burning

If you want to do XVCD instead

Check your DVD player for compatability.

  3. I am new to making svcds from avi's and im having a problem with DVD2SVCD v1.1.3 build 2. When i change modes into avi to svcd mode, under the misc tab I am unable to check "convert divx 3 to divx 4". Im pretty sure I have installed all the codecs that were said to be installed if there was ths problem. I am also using Cinema Craft Encoder v2.5.

    What should i do?
