  1. K...I have the entire series of one of my fav shows on video tape. I want to start ripping them to my computer and putting them on cd's. I have an ATI Rage fury pro video card and a Soundblaster Live sound card. I sort of know how to use Virtual dub but whenever I try recording to mpg or avi the files are like 650megs to 1.5gigs depending on the settings. When I compress the files the video quality is really bad and the sound is out of sync if I edit out commercials. Can anybody assist me on the proper steps of doing this so I come out with around 75meg decent quality files? Such as the ones a person can download on mirc.

  2. It depends on the type & size of the shows you got, but from my expierence 75MB of a decent show is not gonna be that big 10 minutes in MPEG 1 VCD. When I capture a 1 HR show my files are around 1 to 2 GB. Then I encode them to a smaller size around 600 to 700 MB.
