  2. I have read in these forums a great deal about this sync problem with the Toshiba 220. I purchased one about 6 months ago and have had no problems with SVCD`s since the word go. Perhaps I have been really lucky but I have produced many using TMPGEnc for encoding and Nero 5.5 for burning.
The only problems that has recently come to light is that US DVD`s play OK but in Black and White.
This has probably got something to do with the TV not the DVD player.
I have not really bothered to do anything about it yet.
Otherwise the 220 is really brilliant.

  3. Just bought the updated Tosh 330.

It has the same problem with audio-sync on SVCD. DVD-R authored from SVCD using SVCD2DVDMPG, TMPEG Author and burnt using Nero6 don't play properly. The picture only appears on the top 1/3 of the screen and is duplicated side-by-side!

Got fed up and returned it to Amazon and bought the Pioneer 360 instead. I already own a 350 and it plays everything I can throw at it.

In summary ... avoid the Tosh 330. I wrote to Toshiba and I just got their generic reply!
