  1. I just burned my second dvd using this media, and it failed with this error in copytodvd

    13:43:08 error Write failed
13:42:21 error (WriteSector) Failed: Code 03 90 92 [Unknown Medium error

This is the first error that I have received burning dvd's, (this being the 4th dvd that i have done )

What is the problem here? is it a media problem or something else?

Is it real or fake Maxell?
If the MAXELL logo isn't emblazened on the top, it's fake.
Last I saw, it was blue on top too, and a deep purple (almost brown) on bottom.

  6. I just ran DVDINFOPro on it and this is what it told me. I guess it wasn't maxell media after all, but is that the problem?

You must be a +R user then. Not sure what to say. Bad media, bad program, bad burner, dirty burners, lots of options here.

Add one more option: old firmware that can't deal with a new 4x media.

BTW tgm, what's your burner, what's its firmware?

  10. This is a slim DVD+R/W writer that comes with DELL notebooks right?

These kinda problems you're having can usually be solved with
    - updating the firmware (ask Dell if they have one)
    or
    - updating or changing the burning software (RecordNow Max , Nero)

I found the RicohJPN medias reliable but it can be a bad batch.

"Using CopyToDVD to burn to DVD-R(W) Each time a choose 'Write DVD' from the drop down menu - it always rejects the media, at least once sometimes twice. This occurs wether the media is in the drive prior to launching CopyToDVD, or is inserted after. I always wait until the drive has initialised and stopped accessing the media."
