  1. Does anyone have any idea why none of these programs work for me? I thought the key to Macs was that everything works all the time. Since I switched to OS X, I'm finding about half of the programs actually work for me, and most of the video converting ones don't.

When I try to encode an mpg to mpeg-2, I get a cli error something about can't find YUV.

Missing media tools doesn't work either. I have DVD studio pro and QT pro, and I still can't convert to mpeg-2 from QT.

mpgtx doesn't work, I load programs in the window, and the blue bar just sit and spins. I have installed and reinstalled all the programs, deleted plists, etc., makes no difference. Are there quirky things about paths, and libraries and all that crap? At one time macs were pretty immune to this, but it seems now that everything is very sensitive to this.

My mac is a DP 1 Ghz, I bought specifically to do video editing. What a colossal waste of time this has been.

  2. Your remarks are a little too general to help you, you should provide a specific error with information about what you're trying to do and a copy of the program output.
