  1. I was trying to convert my svcd movies onto dvdr
I copied all the mpg files from the disks, merged these, then demuxed, Then ran Besweet on the audio file, then ran the files through ifoedit

And go them into vob files, i tested the files with power dvd and the files played the movie perfectly,

I burned it onto dvd video using Nero and when i tried the DVD in Home DVD Player it came up detecting a CDROM and asking for a playable disk.

    Whats gone wrong ?????
I thought i was well on the way to gettign my vcd/svcds movies onto dvdr but it didnt work
    All advice is gratefully recieved

Can you email replies to lee.egglestone@durham.gov.uk

  2. well...i'm thinking of 3 possibilities...

    ----------

    1) first make sure your dvd player supports DVD-R and DVD+R...check here: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

    ---------

    2) you might be burning the DVDs as UDF 1.05 in nero.... not all dvd players support this... UDF 1.02 is much more compatible with dvd players...here's a guide: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=127624

    -------

    3) essentially, you have made a SVCD-DVD. however, keep in mind SVCD specs are NOT compliant DVD specs...meaning that you just made a non-standard, compliant xDVD, which has lower dvd player compatibliity than standard DVD.

so, you might need to convert/re-encode your SVCD MPEG-2 to DVD compliant MPEG-2...so, you can make a fully compliant, standard DVD.

    guide here: https://www.videohelp.com/mpeg2tovcd.htm

and lots of SVCD to DVD guides here: https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?howtoselect=3;29
