This issue is becoming a mission!
The focus of my attention in the new Led Zep DVD. I have split disk 2 using ifoedit using the default layer break. I then copy all the extras to the new disc 1 and this disc is perfect and will play on the PC and the player.
However, if disc 2 is burned 'as is' ie, with only the vob9 split, it will not play properly. Setting 'first play' using ifoedit will get it to start on the DVD player. It will not play on my PC using 'play DVD from HDD'. The error reported is 'cannot find file specified'
It is clear that disc 2 is looking for one or more of the extras and/or menu. I believe some editing of the ifo's is required to resolve this, but I have little experience. I will experiment with adding vobs until I can identify the required extra.
But, does anyone have any sort of guide on editing the ifo's to achieve what I need?

Progress report.
I found vobs 1,2 & 4 were required to make disc 2 work properly. So now I have disc 2 with a menu of which only 50% of the selections do (and should) work. Selecting the others makes the player seize up!
The next objective: remove or disable the redundent menu items on each disc. Sounds easy, but using the menu editor found on this site resulted in a movie that will not play at all, let alone display the menu.
Still, from what I have learned, everyone seems to skirt around the issue of editing the ifo files, and having scrolled through using IfoEdit it is clear to me that this should be the way to edit the files. However, I'm not keen to just experiment in this way.
We need a detailed 'how to edit ifo's guide! Any takers.
