  1. Hi Guys,

My first post here so Im hoping its in the correct forum.

    I have,

    - Hauppage WinTV PCI
    - V Dub
    - TMPGEnc
    - Nero ver 5.0.5.1
    - Ricoh Burner
    - Onkyo DV S535 home DVD player

I have captured a 1 minute thirty second AVI
of TV directly from the WinTV card. Following the
instructions here I created a VCD that played successfully.

I tried to create an SVCD following the instructions here
but it wont play in my Home DVD player. If I try and watch
the created SVCD on my PC with Powerdvd it tells me I have
a disk with an unsupported format. If I go into file mode
and click on the mpeg file in the Mpeg2 directory on the
SVCD it will play the clip no problems.

When I place this disk into my Home DVD player it takes
a long time to load and reports the disk as a VCD. I cant
play it at all. The play function is available but doesnt
    play the clip.

The MPEG2 file created by TMPGEnc plays perfectly ok on the
PC, so Im assuming it must be something in the burning process.
The clip is obviously on the CD as I can manually select
it and play it via File mode in PowerDVD.

What the hell am I doing wrong ????

Do I have to capture the AVI at a different resolution
for SVCD ? Does the ver of Nero I have (5.0.5.1) have
    an SVCD bug ?

I actually downloaded a bitrate calculator so Im confident
    thats not the problem.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
