Hey,
Quick question here:
When i play an svcd i made in my player sometimes the sharpness around the peoples faces goes fuzzy when there is increased movement.
(i capped from vhs to avi with huffy, used cce to do 4 pass vbr then encoded to mpeg2)
Would increasing or decreasing the avg/max/min bitrates fix this?
TIA.

i am trying to fix simular problem. Not with DVD source though, those are perfect. I am having simular problem with DV AVI files, soccer game with lots of motion. Tried xSVCD but I got worse quality than SVCD?
If your source is DVD try dvdtosvcd great results! If DV then we need some help here!!!Swing a hammer at it, if it doesn't fix it I gaurantee you will feel better. -
My source is analog captured to avi using huffy codec...
I think my problem is a bitrate problem. -
I beleive that Mainconcept encoder has a switch called "Allow Motion Based Compensation" to supposedly help those areas with quick motion, although I have never tried it on DV soccer footage or anything.
Cant hurt to try it I guess.
