converted movies but ive lost my sound! HELP PLEASE!!

Can anyone help having downloaded a few movies xvid and divx im using ulead to convert which it is doing but im having a major problem with the audio in othr words i dont have any at all what am i doing wrong? this is now driving me insane ive think ive tried every which way but i seem to be going around in circles. ive followed your guides with tmpg and virtual dub and ulead plz someone put me out of my misery without shooting me!

You are going to have to give a little more info if you want help from anyone here. Such as what settings are you using in TMPGenc. And what exactly are you doing when you load the video into Ulead.

ok this is what i have done so far with ulead! ive loaded my file to convert i havnt altered any settings except that i want to watch it on pal as im from the uk. i get to the very end and im ready to burn to disc ulead then will start converting at the mo as im not going to waste my time converting a whole film im just trying 2 mins of a film it'll convert and burn nicely but without any sound. when ive tried using tmpg ive followed all the instructions in dvd help ive made a wave file then let tmpg do its stuff! 14 hours later im ready to use ulead tmpg made it way to long for ulead so i cut it down burnt it to disc then the sound was out of sync! i hope this is enough info for you guys to help me! the only settings ive changed on anything is to be able to play on pal

im a bit of a newbie so this might be a lot of crap but if u encoded a movie that was 29.97 fps to pal this might be the problem
coz most tv's in europe play ntsc now u should encode it to that and not bother about encoding it to pal
im not also a newbie im a bit drunk so i'll quit while im behind lol

well that didnt work!! Ive used virtual dub to see what format its in now i know NTSC is 29.000fps and pal is 25.000fps but the movies i have are 23.000 is this the problem that im getting and ulead cant convert? tmpg is working fine i have converted picture and sound but ulead is still giving me no sound!! this is driving me insane somebody help me PLEASE

When you add the video into Ulead are you hitting the REPLACE AUDIO button. Then selecting your wave file, it should then leave a music symbol at the bottom right hand corner of your video clip.

I dont think ive tried that i'll give you a go and see what happens. also ive used tmpg again ive got everything including the sound but when i load the file onto ulead it crashes so i have to close the programme ive also tried neo dvd it once again crashes any ideas why? thanks slick i hope i wont have to post anything else here

dvd compliance, source audio needs to be 48khz..if it's not, it should be resampled. When converting from ntsc 23.976 (progressive) to pal 25, the framerate of the audio also needs to be changed. I don't know if ulead does that (since i don't use it), but it needs to be done (I use besweet for both of these tasks). otherwise, the audio will go out of sync during playback.

Use Virtual Dub ....ripp Audio off movie using PCM No compression save wave....You can use Tpmgenc use divx file for video and select the wave for audio problem solved

dunno if this will help but i would use gold wave for the sound then on TMPGEnc wizard select ntsc then on page 2 of wizard coz its 23 fps select film movie.
hope this works but im still a newbie
