  1. These days we can get movies in various file formats from a wide variety of places....P2P....mIRC.....etc..etc..

So many times we find glitches in these files....pixalating....strange colour defects...unstable audio....etc.

I would like to know .....Is there a program out there that can test a file & fully scan it without having to sit there and scroll thru the entire movie to find problems before encoding. In other words....once a movie has been downloaded, can it be fed into a program that will scan it for faults ?
I'd rather watch the movie later thru my DVD in the comfort of my lounge room and not in front of my PC....

I hope someone knows where I am coming from......>???

    Thanks...Love to hear from you....

    Cheers
    MLOR....

Sure it comes with every commercial DVD you buy. For some strange reason, when it is running, the new DVDs seem to work flawlessly. It is only the ones you seem to download from P2P that get problematic. I have yet to have a problem with the DVDs I got from the store or purchased online.

have you tried virtual dub, its great as far as checking for bad frames in your movie, as well as joining avi files...u do know that everything has to be the same to join a file right...codec, audio codec, fps...holla back

Sircooks, you know that when we join files they do not have to be identical every respect? Using AviSynth and the "+" operator, you can join any two (or three, or four...etc.) movies no matter what they are in bitrate, audio, whatever. A lot of people here respect your opinion, so I am telling you this to keep you from inadvertently misleading them.
    Hello.

  8. FIrst thing siad is always buy the DVD, THEY DON"T EXIST for many public domain and even old movies that aren't!

Don't foget, some of the GOOD STUFF is public domain and that means we DO have the right to do anything with tit we choose. EVEN SELL IT if we can find it.

Personally I just want it for my own collection, but where cna I find the Keystone cops or Charlie Chaplin, or other silent movies that started it all?

If I could find those and had the band with I too would be downloading movies

Also don't forget those bedroom flicks that aren't on DVD or VHS, just the net. Some people go for those, yuk, I'll make my own as need be
