  1. Hello,

I've been creating vcd's for quite a while now with very few probs but my films where on 2 or more discs, as I had some spare cash I bought a dvd rewriter so I could put my two disc films on one disc. All my files are 700mb or less but when I convert/render them using ulead movie factory or ulead dvd dvd maker the files suddenly become over the 4.4gb limit for a dvd-r. How can I convert my files to a dvd compliant format so they fit onto a single dvd-r?
I've tried tmpgenc but I havent got the dvd plugin so I cant use that, any suggestions would be appreciated!

  3. DVD specs actually support VCD specs (resolution, etc...)

the only thing that's different is that you would need to upsample your audio from 44.1 Khz (VCD) to 48 Khz (DVD)...

in this case, you will NOT need to re-encode or convert.....you can author the VCD directly onto the DVD, to make a VCD-DVD...which should be fully compliant.... i would do a test first to make sure your dvd player is fine with it...but since a VCD-DVD is fully compliant DVD, there shouldn't be any problems...

btw, the good news if you take this route is you can fit 450 min. of VCD onto 1 DVD.

  4. thanks for that, I used the guide on here somewhere to convert the audio and hey presto! I used ulead to convert the file into a vcd file and then use movie factory to convert the audio and burn and it played fine on my dvd player!
