  1. Do all DVD programs create chapters that make the standalone DVD player pause in between like it's pulling up a new file insead of playing a long connected file like professional DVDs. I've used Pinnacle Express and Pinnacle Studio 7 and they both do this, I would like a program that doesn't.

If you've only one file and simply added menu's then no, it shouldn't happen.
Very strange as I use Pinancle Studio 8 and regulary add just one mpeg2 file with multiple chaptes and this doesn't happen to me.
Does it do it when you play it on your computer dvd drive?
Do you have the facility to try a friends standalone dvd player?

Check your program to see if that is adjustable. I'm thinking it might be like Nero VCD creating where it defaults to (something like 5 seconds) and if you don't want a pause you have to manually change all of them to zero second pause.
