In Final Cut Pro 4 I export to a .mov file and then use ffmpegx to produce a muxed mpeg2 file. The issue is that it takes several minutes for the program to respond after I 'choose' the .mov file. These are 20GB files roughly that I have saved on my desktop. Is there a better place to save these files for optimization and is this delay typical. The first time it happend I thought the program was hung. Thanks.
