  1. 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3

is the sound of my movie clip as detected by G-SPOT v2.21

Tmpgenc 2.5 Plus only allows output in project mode CBR MPEG Layer 11 (MP2) or VBR Linear PCM Audio

I chose the former and I get the movie on my DVD when I play it but no sound.. I "simple Demux " and change the output for audio to extension "mpa"

What do I need to do to get sound on my DVD ?

Please step through this as I am fairly green !!

some players do not support an MP2 track as the only audio track. check the guides for how to create an .ac3 file using Bsweet, and use that in TMPGenc DVD authour.

So TMPGenc does not support WAV. Files!. That must be why when it try to multilex my M2V files and WAV files in tmpgenc, it comes up with an error message. I'll try to convert them to an AC3 file.

  4. OK I have read the guide. sounds simple. do I encode the AVI file with TMPGENC 2.5 plus into a MPEG file then I demux that MPEG (large 4gb file) into the separate video and audio files ? what should the audio extension be ? should I leave it as it is m2v or change it to mpa ? what should I input into BeSweet ? I am encoding my rock concert right now so I would like to know where I go from here.

    Thanks for your understanding

What software are you using to author your dvd? TMP Author can use a muxed mpeg for authoring without having to demux and then remux.

Does your final mpeg play fine before you author?

(power DVD or winDVD or some other mpeg2 player)

  6. I tried the encoded Mpeg file with TmpGenc 2.5 plus and played the resulting mpeg in WinDVD Platinum 4.511 however there is no sound.

I am at a loss what to do next

I have split the Mpeg file into video and audio (mp2) by a Simple Demux in TmpGenc I think it is called.

Now where do I go from here ? I tried the BeSweet but am completely lost . Isn't there something more simple than that ?

Although the audio is mp3, it may be VBR in which case there may be some problems when encoding audio. I suggest that you use Virtualdub to extract your audio into a wav format (the result will be fairly big). You can use that as your audio source for encoding/muxing.

For DVD compliance, you need to make sure that the sample rate is at 48000. For that I use besweet. All this software is freely distributable and you can find them on the tools section.

If the sound doesn't work on your pc after you encode, it will not work on your standalone.

    good luck

  8. Success !!! I put the AVI file into Nero Vision Express and chose "PAL" and now I have a great picture and sound 48000kbs (stereo) not AC3 but the Stones never sounded so better !!
