  1. I recently purchased a Liteon 2001, and have been unable to upgrade the firmware. I've downloaded the file 2001-0227.zip from Liteon's web site, unzipped the files and burned the file "liteon_v0227.nrg" to a blank cd per instructions (in fact I've burned about 6 different cds, and 1 dvd using different methods). When I put the cd in the Liteon 2001, the machine puts up a screen showing "Play Menu", but at the bottom it says "No files found!". I was able to obtain 2001-0224.zip, but got the same results. I'm using the latest version of Nero. The machine seems to play DVD's ok and recognizes jpegs. What can I do? Is the chip set defective?

  2. I don't use Nero however I will throw in my $0.02. Are you burning the CD as a data disc (I think that's the correct mode)? Are you burning the CD using UDF 1.02? If so try the other UDF mode or vice versa.

  3. You should select burn image file not data file.

  4. In Nero 6 (the lastest version for download off their site) go to:
    Recoder
    Burn Image

Select your .nrg file and then it will do the rest for you.

  5. Thanks to those who replied to my problem. You were right on. I disregarded the instructions and burned the file as an image, it automatically expanded and burned all the proper files on the CD. I put the CD in the machine and sat back while it did everything by itself. It pays to have the right connections.
