    I want to upsample some 44.1KHz audio to 48KHz without that background static/hiss. I have tried r8 brain and VDub and SSRC, all with the same results. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    also, Soundforge is excellent at resampling - there's the option to apply anti-alias filtering, which takes quite a long time to do the number-crunching, but works brilliantly.

    a lot more expensive than GoldWave though
