Well I am having some trouble with the software right now. I get about halfway through the copying portion of the movie(the first disk since it splits the movie onto two) and then the program stops responding. I go into tskmngr and it says program not responding. Then I get an error in DVDXCOPY that says error reading source disk: abort, retry, ignore. But retry doesn't always seem to work and if it does it only reads a little more b4 it stops responding. Now, If you have any suggestions on what to do I would appreciate it.

Or, if you have suggestions of better, less hassle ways to backup a DVD I really want to hear it.

    Thanks,
    G-man

  2. Could be your DVD drive has a problem so check in device manager and make sure DMS is enabled for the drive. Also could be a bad discs.

A simple and free way to back up onto a single DVDR is to use SmartRipper then use DVDshrink (both programs are free), then use RecordNow Max or Nero to burn the DVDR.

This may be helpful; go to the official DVDxCopy forum..

There's a buncha people there who are familiar with most of the bugs in this program, and they can help you out...the program itself works really well for most people.

  5. DVDX Xpress is a better deal at half the price and the new version allows you to select the whole disc copy or just the movie only.

DVDShrink will allow you to copy whole disk or movie only as well and the proggie is free.
I actually downloaded trial version of DVDXCopy Xpress and wasn't impressed at all.

True that however DVDX Xpress still is a better deal than DVDX Copy. Also DVDX Xpress is a bit more "user friendly" for the newbies.
