It all depends what you use it for. I run 2GB in my fast machine and don't even think I utilize it all. The only times I think I might is when I'm running InDesign in conjunction with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Streamline. 512MB is still a decent amount for most.

Shouldn't it show up as 196+?

I think anymore that that is a waste. Unless you are doing some really hardcore computer graphic editing with 3D Studio Max or something. I don't think I have ever even gotten up to 80% usage. It usually hovers around 55-60% when I am doing my video stuff.

I wish I thought $85 was nothing. That would get me 1.4 hours of flight time in the club's Cessna 172. Ahhh, flight time....

    G_shocker,

Yeah, 512 PC2100, CompUSA, Best Buy, like 90 bucks, more like 50-60 on rebate week, last weeks shopper mag, anyhow. Shop around.

And best buy it now, as it's price is going up. It's almost obsolete, same like PC100 costs more than 133-166.

You sure you can't use the faster stuff? Can't go by the board's manual, it was printed way back when. Same again, like 66 mhz board can use 100-133, but not vice versa.

I have had trouble runing DDR on one of my dual RAM systems, but think it was that the board was not capable of running DDR, works fine with SD.
