My A05 is connected to the 1st IDE controller as Master. My Samsung DVD ROM is connected to the 2nd IDE controller as Master. Nothing else is on IDE controllers. My HD are scsi. I am running XP and fixed the IDE speed dropping problem from DMA to PIO mode. DVD-ROM ripps ok when it was in the PIO mode(1.9x) But when I enable DMA and starts to ripp at 4.5x, my system hangs. Do I need a special cable like ATA66 or UDMA cable? I can't think of what could cause the hange except data is transferring faster than the cable can handle. Any other ideas? Oh, this is not related to one movie only, it's all movies when it's ripping at speed higher than 2.5x with DVD Decrypter.![]()

Hey nooner' ,
Im not an IDE expert but I think that you may need an 80pin IDE cable. Do yuu use ATA66, ATA100, or ATA133 drives? , because I believe that anything above ATA66 requires a 80 pin connector cable. -
Interesting handle. So you are undefined? In any case, my DVD-ROM has the 40 pin interface. I may need to try the EIDE cable and see if that helps.
