I have a VHS tape I received in a trade some 10 years ago, which was apparently improperly converted from PAL to NTSC (probably using an AGW-1, I should add) I call it "improperly converted" because, unlike most every other straight digital PAL-> NTSC conversion I've ever seen, this one "flashes" horrifically (that is, watching this video is like what a person would see if they were used to watching NTSC broadcasts, and were suddenly shown a PAL broadcast - before their eyes adjust to the 4.97 fps difference). Is this problem most likely "burned" onto the video, or should it be possible, once captured to AVI, to "fix" this flashing? It's my intention to try, but I had to wonder whether anyone else had any experience with poorly converted VHS tapes like this?
Thanks for your comments!
