  1. Ok....I have a mpeg movie and I was dragging and dropping it over to burn the first half as a VCD and I clicked re-encoded.....but something popped up talkin' bout due to patent license restrictions, the MPEG2 encoding/converting is not available........what do I need to do?..and will Nero re-enocde a mpeg movie for me even if I chose the option not to encode?

  2. Sounds like you are selecting to burn as SVCD not VCD as VCD is mpeg1 not mpeg2. Do yourself a favour and don't use Nero to encode, it's really not very good for encoding. Download TMPGEnc its free for mpeg1 and has a 30 day trial for mpeg2 and will give far better results. If you have an mpeg1 and are burning to VCD, it may already be VCD compliant and will not need reencoding. If it is not compliant there is still a chance it will play on your player as an XVCD. To create an XVCD select to burn anyway without reencoding.

  3. ok I think I burned as an XVCD then...cuz I dragged the mpg movie over not mpeg my bad...and didn't select to re-encode or whateva...I'm bout to go check it out now...it played good but sound was a lil' weird cuz I probably burned it too fast...but I don't like dealing with tpmpeg or whateva cuz I do not like waiting for a long time for stuff to convert........
