  1. Used TMPG to encode DivX movie already on my HD. Hit save. When I open the file where it's supposed to be, there are many small files. None of them open to the movie. After a DivX movie is encoded using TMPG, should Sonic MyDVD work with it?

a little more info please. open your source file in gspot (available in tools
section to your left). give us the info it shows for the video and audio. also, tell us what you selected for the encode process on tmpgenc. then we should be able to help.

  3. More info would be nice, but maybe you just hit save and thought the video was encoded by doing that? I dont know how newbie you are, so sorry if i underestimate your experience with this stuff, but to convert the video you have to hit Start, not Save =)

  4. Thanks for responding. It took almost 3 hrs. to encode. I then saved, but to where? I got a window saying it was being saved to 'template'. But when I click on the file for that movie there, I get many small folders and none of them open to a movie. What do you think?

  5. The encoded file would be saved in the path specified in the bottom box of TMPGEnc, the one labeled "Output file name:". If you dont remember, make a search for the original filename without the extension, or replace extension with .mpg.
