Hi, complete newbie here (so bashing/flaming is welcome)

can you disable the Menu's with this?

I can disable the Main Movie and Extras but not the Menu's cos as soon as I choose a Menu it greys out the Disable button

    not what I was expecting

and what's the lowest the slider can be? as I get nothing less than 40%'ish so I guess it's the same % range as DVDShrink for obvious reasons

    thankyou for helping me

p.s. correct any grammar you feel is not appropriate :P

Disable an actual menu? I've not used Recode yet cause I have to drum up the case for my Nero 6 upgrade, but I know there is a fairly cheap tool out there called Menu edit (in the tools section) that lets you disable buttons, you could just disable the button that takes you to the menu you want to lose, then it like its not even there.

some of the FBI warnings etc are in the Menu files and these are the ones I wish to lose, so it looks like it's still the old IFOEdit way for me as I don't use MenuEdit as I can do it simply using IFOEdit anyway

I know I can bypass, remove etc as I have no problems doing that but it would be nice just to say BLITZ IT! by clicking one button and save a few mins work

    cheers

Nero Recode is relatively useless in this arena. It's perhaps the least useful program of this type.

To do what you want, I recommend the combination of AnyDVD and CloneDVD. Yeah, they're not free. But they do more (at the moment) than DVD Decryptor + DVD Shrink.

I know AnyDVD enables the processing when ripping on the fly but how does CloneDVD remove FBI warnings etc and also unwanted Titles while maintaining DVD Structure when doing a Movie + Menus?

I can't recall it having stripping features as I only used the trial when it first came out and it wasn't anywhere near what I wanted, unless it's been updated of course

    cheers

That is what "replace cell" feature of MenuEdit does. https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=162930

First, AnyDVD removes the PUO (Prohibited User Operations) from the DVD (it also removes macrovision, CSS, and region coding), which is what "protects" the FBI warning, etc. Now, if the FBI warning happens to be part of the main track then no you can't get rid of it. But if it's on its own track or in its own title (often) then you can... see below.

When selecting what to keep and what to ditch in CloneDVD (yeah there is a screen for that) you can completely deselect titles while keeping the menu structure. It will rebuild the menus as needed. Yeah, pretty spiffy feature, says I.
