  1. hi everybody, still in deep trouble but ...
is it possible to author a dvd with different formats in it? I mean, i.e. using moviefactory, making first chapter with a 720x576 mpeg2 video and second one with 352x288 mpeg1?
    thanks, cheers, jeremy.

  2. I did that with DVD-Lab, I had a 704x480 movie and a 544x480 movie. Put both on the same DVD and everything worked fine.

DVD-Lab will give you a warning, but it will let you compile np.

    Hope this help

Yes it is possible. But I don't think you can do it with moviefactory. It is also best to use a dvd authoring tool that can make a new vts/track for the different resolutions. TMPGEnc DVD Author supports this, you just add a new track for each video resolutions and it should work on all dvd players.

  4. I can confirm that using different sizes in Ulead MF 2 is a BAD thing

This weekend I was burning a couple DVDs, and when I went to play them I found most of the chapters were just fine. But some older files were playing back all garbled (audio was ok, but video was jerking around like a loose movie tape).

Upon examination the older files I had at 320x240 while the newer were at the correct 720x480. Evidently even telling MF to reencode was not enough for it to properly convert.

So, I'll be running the older files through VirtualDub and then burning (again).

    Sheesh...

  5. thank you all.
I understand it's not as easy as I hoped it would be ...
    I'll do a try on a dvd-rw using a full pal and a 352x576 mpeg2, hope I'll do soon and post results.
    many thanks again, cheers, jeremy.
