I have just done an 81min DVD rip to Pal VCD using DVDx.

I then cut the mpeg with TMPGenc to 79 mins.

When I add it to Nero to make a disc it say the audio is for SVCD so I have to turn the compliance off. The problem then is the bar goes right off the scale with the Mpeg to big for an 80 min cd!

In the set-up for DVDx the audio says AC3 6 channel. Is this not Dolby Digital which you can't use for VCD only SVCD? When I have tried to use the 2 channels listed on other DVD's all I get is the director talking or stuff like that.

I re-encode with TMPGenc and then the mpeg added fine but I don't want to have to do this all the time.

What do I do in the settings to get DVDx to work Properly?

I have done a scan of the files and can't see why the DVDx rip won't work?

    Before Convertion

    MPEG1, PlayingTime=4741.120s, Bitrate=1393600bps, PtsOffset=0345s, 403437 packets

Video Stream: Motion Video, 288x352, 25fps (PAL), 1150kbps
Audio Stream: Audio Standard MPEG layer2 Stereo, 44100Hz, 229376bps

When I add the above file to Nero it says "Steam encoding which is invalid for a (super) video-CD"?
I don't understand this as Im making a VCD not SVCD?

    After Convertion with TMPGenc
    MPEG1, PlayingTime=4741.146s, Bitrate=1411200bps, PtsOffset=0346s, 355604 packets

Video Stream: Motion Video, 288x352, 25fps (PAL), 1150kbps
Audio Stream: Audio Standard MPEG layer2 Stereo, 44100Hz, 229376bps

No problems with Nero and Plays fine?

I thought the audio was a bit above the standard at 229376bps but its still the same after convertion?

    Any ideas?

I de-multiplexed then re-multiplexed the file and now it works fine?

    What's wrong with the original?
