  1. Hi, I have a problem maybe someone can help me with, here goes:

I have an original VCD and I can play it fine on my computer (Media Player, Sasami2k, PowerDVD) via my Acer 50X CD-ROM. Now here's the problem. I take the VCD and using EasyCD Creator 4 I do a CD-to-CD copy and the burned copy refuses to play! On Media Player, I try opening the .DAT files and it says it cannot recognize the format. On Sasami2k and PowerDVD, I insert the CD and the CD-ROM keeps continuously reading the burned VCD without any video or audio being played. Just keeps reading forever...

Another scenerio I have is that I obtained a .CUE/.BIN VCD image and when I burn it with Nero Burning ROM the same problem occurs. The burned copy refuses to play either saying the .DAT is not recognized or the CD-ROM keeps continuously reading the burned VCD with no results showing.

What have I done wrong? Do I need to convert the VCD/ISO into an MPEG and reburn with EasyCD/Nero's VCD creator? Am I using the wrong CD Media? (I'm using Pine 700MB/80min., Cursor Color 700MB/80min.) I also have an HP CD-Writer Plus 7200i (internal) capable at burning at blazingly fast speeds of up to 2X is that is any help at all.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance...

  2. If your burner is supported i would use clonecd. Some of those other programs just waon't copy a true duplicate. I also would use cdrwin or fireburner to burn a cue file because nero always screws them up.

Jestermania is right. There are far better programs such as clonecd that make EXACT copies of CDs. There are many more besides clonecd if it doesnt support your burner. get a decent cd cloning utility first and try that. If that doesnt work then reply.
