How do you convert a avi file so it can be made to a vcd or svcd? I'd appreciate the help with this! I tried using tmpge to convert it and it does not work. Thanks in advance!

  2. You can load your avi file into an encoder (such as TMPG) directly and encode, or you can frameserve the file to an encoder. What happened when you tried to use TMPG?

I got a error msg saying the file was not supported. I'm clueless as to what to use to convert the avi file.

  4. Go to the environmental settings and open it up. Click on the VFAPI plugin tab and make sure the direct show multimedia file reader has a priority of at least one. See if that helps.

I checked the enviromental setting and for direct show multimedia there is a -1 showing. I tried opening up the avi file again in TMPGE and I still get the error msg saying not open and not supported. Thanks for helping me out.

Increase Direct Show until it is 1 or higher, and it is the first one in the list.
    Hello.

Um lol how do I increase it in TMPGE? I'm still a newbie at this stuff. Thanks for replying to my post.

  8. Change the priority from a -1 to a 1. Position your cursor over the words direct show.... Then right click and a drop down box appears. Choose higher priority. It will change to 0. Do this again and it will change to 1.
