  1. Hi everyone,
I was just wondering, after i convert an mpg file with svcd2mpg and try to load it in TMPG i get the error message unable to initialize decoder. Anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

  2. SVCD2DVDMPEG does not convert the file.

All it does is rename the headers to trick your DVD player into thinking its a DVD, (it's still an SVCD), and re-encodes the audio if needed.

If you need to convert a file into an MPEG, use TMPGEnc, MainConcept, CCE, Procoder, or something similar.

Then feed this proper MPEG into TMPGEnc DVD Author.

  4. I had that error randomly with TMPGEnc DVD author, I am not sure why it happens.

Did you try to fix the GOP size with a tool like MPEG2VCR? Maybe that would help, just a thought ...

I wish they could fix that, and that they could give us the option to create new menu, but this is another story.
