  1. How do you clean your burner lens & how often ?

    AFAIK, you don't. (unless you have yours in an environment that is conducive to accumulation of grunge)

    I have a CD burner that I have used constantly since Oct '97 and it still doesn't need any tweaking. That's almost 6 years! I would expect good brand burners to do the same--whether CD or DVD.

    If yours is having some problem, could be defective in more ways than just a "dirty" lens.

  3. If it needed cleaning I'd try an using a can of air first. But since I don't smoke, I've never needed to clean any of them, CD, DVD, CD-RW or DVD-RW drives.

    I've seen a few at work that cleaning could help but I could smell the strong smoke smell from the machine so I knew why.
